I have collected this species many times. It is an odd little fish though, and often stumps even professional fish taxonomists. I have seen jars of them in museum collections misidentified as Pseudanthias species.
Please do an image search on Lepidozygus! Blenny species that have a similar body form are members of the family Blenniidae, which lack scales. Scales are clearly visible in the photograph.
