I know I've read this before but I can't remember. How much flow is recommended? In other words, how many gallons per hour per gallon of containment?

For a FOWLR 10-25 x volume will work For REEF i like 30-50 closer to 50x volume

Just to replicate the ocean. The ocean has a ton more flow than we can even imagine. Also this is needed especially for reefs with sps. Also to keep detritus suspended so it can be removed via socks sponges and skimmers.

I get confused on where to direct the flow

I put the PH's on the ends of the tank upper rear corners aimed at the front center so the flows crash into each other this tends to give nice random flow patterns
