Fluval G3 -- what do you think?

I want to buy a really good cannister for my 55g heavily planted tank. It contains rainbows, bn plecos and snails. The old cannister broke and the Aquaclear 70 isn't enough in my opinion. What is better G3 or 306? I like fluval products.

I haven't had the G3, but my fluval 306 & 406 work great. And, in my opinion are quick and easy to clean.

I believe the G3 have high filtration, meaning that water does not bypass the media. So gph is lower...

Anyways, I would go with a 306, just because I know what I am dealing with.

So today I bought a 306 and 206 from Petsmart and they were a few bucks cheaper than Amazon. Going to scrap the G3 idea for now. Thanks!!
