I'm in Ohio and want to get some freshwater clams for my tank, does anyone know of any native to ohio?

There are a ton of natives, but this is not the right time of year to collect them. If you do collect some from a local stream or river they will likely die as I am sure they are in some type of hybrinating state at the moment. Also, if you're planning to put them in a tropical fish tank keep in mind your fish have no exposure or natural defense against native pathogens.

You can get fresh water clams from Consolidated Fish Farm.

Thank you, what kind of bio load do they have?
