I'm not sure if this the right spot to post this or not but here goes.
I'm trying to spawn some bettas and I have a koi pond in the yard. On the water fall is hair alge and its full of little critters that would make excellent fry food. My problem is separating the critters from the trash. I've taken some pieces of the alge, placed in a tall plastic vessel. The solids sink to the bottom and I can see quite a few critters darting a round. What I'd like to know is there a way to harvest these guys and start a thriving culture of them. I found a few places with some articles but they all are science oriented and not geared for the hobbyists. Any help would be welcome.
Thanks
P.S. fry meaning about a week or two old.
