Fuzzy white stuff

I just filled a 37gal tank. I cleaned it and washed the gravel. Within 24 hours the tank was filled with a fuzzy white stuff that settled to coat the gravel when the filter was turned off. There have not been any fish oh the tank. Suggestions?

You didn't use soap when you washed the gravel right?

Nope, just water til it was clear. This is my third tank

That's good. ...I have no clue what it could be. I've never heard of that.

Is your tank exposed to much sunlight?

the same thing happened to me when the guy at the pet store told me to lower my ph and gave me stuff to put in it...it seemed to be a algae bloom of some sort and i drained and cleaned everything and so far it hasnt returned..it looked like fog all over everything....
