I bought a gold nugget pleco yesterday that’s very small maybe an inch and a half long. My concern is that he may get outcompeted for food. Dropped some algae wafers and bloodworms in today and the other fish gobble up most of it and then work on the algae wafers very aggressively. Gouramis, Geos, tetras and loaches are the tank-mates. When I turn the lights off the little pleco becomes much more active. My thinking is I’ll try cucumber because it lasts long enough for him to get plenty of it overnight. There is plenty of algae on the rocks and driftwood though I don’t know how much of L18’s diet is algae. I’ve heard conflicting evidence as to whether they need a meaty diet or veggies. The other option is to setup a 10g for him until he grows a bit.
