Here's my other fish. The panda moor is called Wolfgang, Pearlscale is Mrs Puff and the red cap is Zeus. You'll see from a new pic of Zorro that he's starting to lose his black fin tips as he's growing.

They look great jlk! Did you have to separate the fry eggs or did they just hatch in the same tank as the parents?

Unexpected surprise! I discovered them completely by accident as I was on vacation for two weeks. Cleaning up the tanks when I returned and saw something wiggling on the bottom.... I am sure the parents ate most of the eggs and fry as they were on a starvation diet while I was away. I normally keep males and females separate but I hadn't separated these two yet as they are barely a year old. Usually, fry go outside as I don't need a zillion fish but its already a bit too cold. I'll post updates if they survive!

They are in a 55 gallon and are almost 2 yrs old. I bought the black one labeled as a Moor at WalMart but was later told it was a Dragon something or nother... I just know its a bully. It bumps the other fish and bugs the mess out of them when they try to eat. I have four goldfish in that tank plus peppered Cory and albino Cory and then some Giant Dino's. Adding a pleco soon as the brown algae is getting out of hand.

If u think it is a Moor please let me know! These were the best pics I could get.

Yes, a black moor (for now). He/she will eventually will be completely orange. Please do not add pleco in with your fancies- you are only asking for trouble and the tank is already stocked a beyond a reasonable level. Plecos don't eat brown algae (diatoms) anyway. :)

I don't think it's over stocked. It's a 55 it has four goldfish, four of the little catfish, two giant Dino's. however, the goldfish are getting larger, about baseball size, I should start looking for a larger tank for them.

Sad news to share all. I came home today to find Wolfgang (panda moor) has died. Very strange as he shown no symptoms of being ill and the water parameters are fine. 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 40 Nitrate. Tested using API Freshwater kit. (Following instructions correctly). Other fish are fine. Any ideas to what it could have been? I've had him for around 5 months.

Few things are worth considering here. First, have all your fish been prazi'd? Next, what kind of water change schedule do have? 40ppm of nitrate is awfully high for fancies and he if was in nitrate at this level for his life, I would expect some health issues, even demise. Last concern would be diet. What do they normally eat?

Iso, pronounced ice-o, in his current 10g tank while his brand new 55g is cycling. Just started the second week of cycling. Can't wait to get his new tank cycled and planted. He's going to love it.

Don't know what prazi'd is so doubt it. I change the tank water each week and change around 25-30% of the water volume. I use de-chlorinated water. Their stable diet is sakari hikari sinking pellets, I also feed de-shelled peas twice and a week and blood worms once a week. He shown no illness's associated with Nitrate poisoning (bends etc).

You need to do much bigger water changes, more frequently with goldfish. Your nitrates are definitely on the high side and other substances we do not test for (such as TDS, metal content, etc) are likely also very high from lack of sufficient wcs.

Unless you purchased your fish from a private breeder with excellent husbandry practices, the chances are very likely your fish have flukes. Its the most common issue with goldfish and symptoms are not apparent until the damage has already been done (or the fish has died). Addressing flukes with praziquantel (5mg/l for a full cycle) is standard protocol for goldfish.

So many lovely fish in this thread!

I can't get a pic worth of him, but I have a moor that is almost entirely orange now except for his black mohawk and lipstick - he looks pretty comical.
