Hi all,

Looking at rehoming two goldfish and would consider rehoming them in a pond as opposed to the tropical aquarium they are currently in.

Can anyone provide any advice as to how I would go about preparing my goldfish to be rehome in a pond?

Cheers in advance (y)

No sorry. It would be a pond someone else owns/manages.

When the weather and temperature of the pond are similar to their tank conditions is the best time to do it. It will be easier for them to adjust to a pond this way. I would recommend bagging them in fish shipping type of bags (1 per bag) with lots of their tank water & then float the bags in the pond for atleast 1/2 hr to equalize the temps. Once equalized, add small amounts of the pond water every 15mins until you double or triple the amount in bag. Then set them free! Its basically the same type of process as you would do to acclimatize any fish to new conditions. Good luck!!!
