Hello

I was just wondering what everyone thinks is a beginner or easy breeding egg layer. I would prefer to stay away from cichlids but open to suggestions. Need more of a challenge than guppies :) thanks!

Zebra Danios
White Cloud Mountain Minnows
Dwarf Gourami's are not too difficult - make sure you read about what they need.

Danios and WCMM should just breed in the community tank. If you've ever kept them they probably have but as they are egg-scatters their eggs will just fall to the bottom and a] get eaten by other fish or b] be crushed by the pressure.

This is going against what u said , but convict chichlids are nice and easy egg layers. IMO
