I added some green starburst polyps to my tank and they tucked away for the first day, then slowly came out over the next couple of days. A week later they were gone and it looked like hair algae started to grow over them. I figured it was them just going into a period of hiding (I've read they do this from time to time). It's been 2 weeks and I haven't seen them since, parts of their colony have almost a brown tint to them. I did a PWC before I introduced them and have done them at least once a week and all parameters are normal. Here are my specs

48" Nova Extreme Pro 6x54w
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 10
Nitrite: 0
pH: 7.8-8
Temp: 76º
Phos: 0

I actually had a similar issue six months ago. The colony I had for two months just stopped opening. My water was perfect and I hadn't added anything new to the tank so I was stumped. I ended up running some fresh GAC in a reactor and within a day or two they opened right up. I guess something foreign was in the water.
