Hello. I've had some pretty green water in the past week. In the last three days I've covered the tank for no light, reduced feeding and bought a phosphate pad. The question I have is where do I place the pad. I have a 26 gal tank with the fluval C3 filter.

Thanks. Yes I did. I covered up the tank for 4 days and reduced feeding. Also added a phosphate pad on top of the carbon in the Fluval C3 filter. With weekly water changes all should be good.

Phosphates do not cause green algae in fw systems, quite the contrary actually.
