Uh.. Hi! I'm pretty new to this aquarium stuff so chances are I'm doing something wrong, even though I've barely started.

My dad got a 20 gallon and I asked for a pleco so he bought me a little one. I named it Emery. It was the highlight of my facebook page for quite some time. (My dad just recently killed the litle guy playing with the ph.) But pretty much, Emery got me stuck on fish, especially plecos. The picture is of him.<3

I bought a 45 gallon tank about a week ago and before I read up too much on cycling (much less fishless cycling) I got 3 black mollies, 4 black phantom tetras, a small common pleco (named Flake), and 2 silver lyretail mollies.

welcome to AA.a common pleco is not fit for a 45 gallon tank,125 gallon minimum.luckily,there are smaller species of plecos,like bristlenose,that would be fine in a 45.
