Hi. So my daughter has a tank and i cleaned it out today and all of a sudden these white fury string things have appeared on the glass. Anyone know what they might be?
Thanks.

Hello Slp...

i couldn't download the photo. But, here's what I think: You could possibly have a form of fungus that has developed as a result of the tank cleanup. If you bring some uneaten food to the surface, fungus can develop. It doesn't present a problem for the tank. Most aquarium fish and snails will remove it. It's been my experience, that if you're keeping a clean tank, nothing harmful is likely to set up shop in the water. So, keep up an aggressive water change routine by removing and replacing most of the tank water every few days and do a good job of vacuuming the bottom material.
