Hello all! I'm rather new to the hobby but I'm trying to really do my research and am currently sticking to "easy" fish and plants. I'm mostly just very keen on doing things right.. when I was a kid i would keep bettas in bowls, no filters, no heaters, no cycling, what was a testing kit? You know? Now that I've been doing my research (and have grown quite a bit older) I just kinda cringe.. so I'm trying to make amends and give my fish the best darn care I can going forward. I hope to get some experience with the easier fish (like my guppies) and eventually years down the line get into more difficult fish like angels or discus. Next project will probably be a gourami tank.

Welcome! BTW angels are not really difficult. Get the tank parameters set and try them out (I have some if you are looking)
