So these four females are driving me nuts, one min they are looking pregnant then the next not but over the last two days they have gotten a little bigger and their gravid spot is now turning back to black.

What do you all think, can you help me out and tell me if you think they are and how far into please?

Your Female Guppies

So these four females are driving me nuts, one min they are looking pregnant then the next not but over the last two days they have gotten a little bigger and their gravid spot is now turning back to black.

Hello Tab...

Female "Livebearers" can hold their fry indefinitely if they feel water conditions aren't right for the frys' survival. If you're not removing and replacing a minimum of a third of the tank water every week, you should consider it. Changing out half the water would be better and make the new water a bit warmer. The rush of warm, pure, treated tap water is usually enough to allow the females to release the fry.

Another thing that's very important is having a lot of stem plants in the tank. Guppies frequent the upper one-third of the tank and having thick surface areas of Anachais and Pennywort give the females and fry many places to hide from the adult fish and makes them feel more comfortable.
