I currently have a 55 freshwater with one red devil and a striped catfish that I have had for 14 years. I just recently set up a 20 long, mostly as a place to temporarily put them when I move their tank into a different room.
I set it up with old gravel, decorations and a couple gal of the original water and trying to keep everything going with a bit of fish food every few days. I haven't tested consisently twice in 4 weeks. This time my nitrates were high with an a. pi test kit. Does that seem normal?
