Hi we have had my tank set up for a year now and have just found this crab it is about the size of a ten pence piece dark green in colour with white patches round it's pincers, it has been hiding inside a rock anyone any ideas??? Will keep trying for a better pic but it's very nervous!!!

Could be an emerald crab, you could tell by the points of the claws being flattened as apposed to being pointy.

It does look like a emerald crab I would say. Very cool that you just found him after a year! lol If it is an emerald crab; they are a great addition. I have 2 and they are fun to watch at night cleaning up algae (since they tend to hide a lot).

Just remember they molt at times, so you may see a full sized one they may look dead and is actually their molt and they will hide for awhile until their new shell has developed. :)

Cool nice little hitch hiker even though I don't see him too much!!!
