On you tube they show how to make and inject co2 with yeast and soda bottles
I was wandering how long the yeast keeps producing co2 ?
I was also wondering once the co2 was introduced into the aquarium how long does it stay in suspension after you stop putting it in?
Thank You

It needs to be recharged every other week or so. A lot of people keep multiple bottles of co2 running at once and then just rotate them out. This is not really recommended with tanks over 30g though as it just burns through too much sugar to make it worthwhile.

How long the co2 stays in the water is a much more complicated answer than it would seem to be. This depends on what type of lid, surface agitation, foorprint, and light level. It is continually being drawn out of the water through quite a few ways so after it stops pumping co2 I wouldn't expect it to last more than half an hour or so.
