How can you tell?

I've heard some people say " my Betta does/doesn't like whatever type of food. I am wondering, how can people tell how much bettas like a certain food.

Observation over an extended period of time. My betta pair won't go and eat flakes, however, sinking wafers of the same brand and more or less food content.. Can't keep them from eating more than their fair share, the piggies.

One thing that is often overlooked is that most fish can be trained to take a certain type/brand of food. It takes a bit of work, especially with wild caught specimens, but it can be very successful if you hold out long enough.
