Do you mean as a treatment or after treatment is finished and let it decay naturally?

I put it in 2 days ago and I'm just wondering would it decay over time if I left it or would it start to have negative effects after a while.

I'm specifically talking about blue planet white spot remedy used at half dosage on clown loaches.

Think that is MG and formalin? It gets soaked up by organic matter and less effective over time. I've done that where I haven't worried about running carbon and just removed it through water changes.

Any tank plants may not like it though. Also bb population may take a hit.

Nitrifying bacteria. It was getting late .

It depends as well. Sometimes I've treated for ich and all was great so removed meds straight away with carbon once cured. Other times the fish have looked a bit off so I've left it to try and help with any secondary infections. Weekly water change is 30 to 40% for me so that tends to dilute it as well.
