how long should I qt new fish

I found some guy on craigslist that has a few fancy goldfish he is trying to rehome. I have a 55 gal with one black moore and he needs a new tank mate or 2. if I get a fish or 2 from him how long should I keep them in Qt before I add to the main tank.? And all I have for a qt is a 10gal is that ok for 1 or 2 fancy goldfish. He says they are about 6in. Will it stunt them being in the 10gal qt. I need some advice on what to do.

I would say no less than 2 weeks in QT and maybe up to a month. For those fish you really need a 20 gal.
