I have a Arowana and he seems to have caused some minor injury to his scales when trying to go after food.

It does not look infected, but I was wondering if I should be adding salt or stress coat to prevent it from getting infected. The water parameters are perfect.

I wanted to add melafix, but there is no way I am going to remove my chemical filtration (chemipure / carbon / purigen).

Thanks for any help.

Salt is a great idea! Clean water is the best idea! If you're really really worried I would do 80 - 100% waterchanges the next few days and add a 0.39% salt concentration to the tank. This is done by one tablespoon of aquarium salt (sea salt) per gallon.

Best of luck!
