I came home and i noticed a slight leak in the tank. My mom freaks out and says that i would ruin the floor and it would collapse so she makes me immediately empty it... i do so (she wanted me to just kill all the fish and i refused to do so.) I grabed a bin and made a makeshift holding tank. And in the process of emptying the tank the sink gets a leak and i flood the bathroom. Mom, was pissed and wanted to throw all my stuff out... i refused not going to just let my fish die like that... so im going to have to get my dad to come over to tommorrow to help me move the stuff and fish to his house. (Hes not allowed near the house). Ouch... sorry, I've been there and it sucks so bad.. carefule with the light on the bucket.. plants will be ok in the dark for a few days.. fish will prefer dark. Luckily the new one is only 55.. inspect it very closely, make.sure.all the panels are flush and the silicone is consistent.. tell your mom to chill, it could have been far worse;) I was cleaning a paintbrush In a customers sink, new home so the plumber had duffed the drain, white paint water all over the new tile floor... worst!!!!

That's awful. But hey, new tank! How old are you? Jesus Christ you keep your room clean, my parents would have kissed the ground I walked on if I had made my bed up so perfectly.

Oh honey... so sorry to hear this happened to you and your fish. The link doesn't work for me, but I hope everything works out. It's too bad your mom isn't more supportive. I'm glad to hear how responsible you are with your pets, at your age. Please post pics when you get your new tank and set it up!
 
I had a picture posted that showed the tank before it was taken down but i guess they didnt work for you. But yeah i will try again when i set it up again.

When you set your new tank up again, check that it and the stand are completely level also. Do a test fill, before you set it up.

Your tank was lovely and I hope it rises again even better.

Yeah, water leaks can freak people out.

Dude that sucks..... Im 15 and I couldn't have scaped a tank that well. But I know how it feels when all the hard work you've but into your tanks is destroyed. I've gone away in the summertime and had one of my tanks completely crash. Nothing is more depressing than having to tear down a tank :(

That's okay, just remember: When you live on your own the only limit to your tanks is space :D

Wow, harsh! I agree with Nigel, my mom would have loved for my room to look like yours. Your mom would flip out if she saw how much of a mess I make changing the water on a 55. I'm just messy in general. Good luck with the tank at your dad's house. Post pics once its up again. Everyone is right- you are a great aquascaper!!
 
This is late but are you certain the leak was the tank and not a filter? Either way, glad you caught it that fast. Cleaning up spills is a serious pain in the butt. I have fears about my 75g springing a leak. I know it has some seams I will be needing to reseal someday.
 
Kill your fish?For a floor? That is MESSED UP! Fish are living, breathing creatures, just like humans, they even TALK to one another.P.S. Tell your mom that.
 
Dang, sorry to hear that! Hope your fish and plants are OK, don't worry your new tank can't look any worse than mine :ROFLMAO:
 
I feel for you my parents don't care much about fish but my mum hates "the dirty fish stuff."
I am also your age and wish I could aquascape like you. Or even get my plants to grow.
