If you have an external filter do you need a pump too????

He bubbles from the pump are putting water all over my lid and my light then they drip down the glass and leave horrible calcium trails that are impossible to get off. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
 
you dont need the air pump. most filters airate anyway
 
If you want both you can pick up and air control valve at your LFS for about $2. That way you can still have the bubbles but it will allow you to control how much.
