Is a clay pot safe safe?

I have a few fish that like to hide. Is it safe to put a new clay flower pot in my tank?

If its plain then its fine


Clay is aquarium safe

Just wash it out as another step of precaution

Still rinse it at least

Rinse in VERY hot water, give it a good scrub and your done.

I got a couple this weekend. Will try to make holes with a dremmel.
