Is "ert" the opposite of "inert?"

Just wondering, as I'm trying to decide if the rocks I want to add to a tank are inert, or um. . . ert. . .
 
reactive would be the best antonym

or calciforus ... but that term might only be useful talking to a minerologist or chemist
