Is my Substrate good or bad?

And if your shrimps don't seem to thrive, you can always move them to a small bowl. I had a simple 1 gallon bowl with dirt underneath and sand on top (called the walstad methdod) with some hardy plants. The cherries thrived in there until my water decided to go ape ****. So fear not!

Also, just thought about this off the top of my head. Make sure the temperature parameters for your fish match up. It's not a huge issue as most fish will acclimate to new temps (won't live as long but not substainally). I say this because for some reason white cloud minnows stick out in my head as cold water species? I could be wrong.
