I guess I'm just confused on why you would want an American turtle species in with African cichlids...

I got the turtle for the kids Lol

Also it like the only reptile and or fish ( other than A. cichlids) that can stay in there.

Lol I was just curious lol you could also look into a tanganyikan eel, although I'm not entirely sure if they're available and if so how much haha but that would be cool in an African tank
