Is zebra rock safe?

I bought this rock at Petco,
North American Pet Zebra Rock at PETCO
Will it harm red cherry shrimps? I had placed the rock in a bucket of water and it bubble a little bit. It only happened once and made me worry. Should I do the vinegar test?

Yes test it but it should be fine.
