what, sir, is wrong with the rock?

you know i spend hours doing the rock in my tanks. most times only to redo it a month later. and every time i move it in piles randomly just to get it out of my way and the chaotic pile looks better than anything ive attempted and can never duplicate.

Rockwork is fun!!! Lol. It's like a life like game of Tetris! I love making caves. It's just time consuming. I find myself walking past the LR tanks at the LFS trying to hide the good pieces for caves until I have the cash to pay for it. All the good pieces are heavy. Right now I'm still eyeballing a piece that's 54 lbs. but it's like 28 inches across and 6 inches high. My LfS is willing to sell it to me for 260$ and that's a steal since its usually 8.99$ a lb

Oh and the thing that bothers me most about my rock is that i have three pieces that go quite well together to make a very nice cave... But i grabbed a pointypiece that i thought was the second base piece and all the rocks on tp look as though they will tumble

Why!?!?! Just ask reefcleaners for a piece that big but higher. It would be under 150 if it was base!

Yes - but this is fully ready to go in my tank. Lol. I'm a woman. I don't have the patience to cure a rock when I want it now. Lol

Ok, the water isnt amazingly clear or anything. However, you can see through the tank. My guess is after a few water changes itll be clear.

I think im going to pump the new water into the back chamber to minimize future sandstorms.

Also, if i were to get a skimmer which chamber does it go in? Do I lose a pump chamber, cuz thatll rule it out for certain

a chamber in your sump? what if you did a hob skimmer off the side of your sump?

There are a bumnch of chambers bacl there. Hob is out, as the tank is a "decorative" piece and cant look cluttered...
