Hey everyone,

Just getting into the hobby. Still in the research stage. Planning to start with a 10-20 gallon planted freshwater tank with a cleanup crew. Hopefully adding some fish after a few months.

Hope to learn a lot from you all.

Welcome! I'd definitely go for the 20. Easy enough to do water changes and big enough that your water chemistry won't swing a bunch.

Thanks @JoeMan. Yea, I'm leaning towards the 20. It's a good point. I've been reading 20-30 gal is a good size for beginners.

Im actually going to be building my two 20 gallons into a 40 gallon and a 10 gallon. Just a little DIY job

Yup. Gonna be a 2' x 2' x 16"
And a 1' x 1' x 16"

Nice, I've heard of people doing that. I like learning new DIY stuff. Now I gotta go look this up on YouTube.

Lol the King of DIY is the boss when it comes to this stuff on YouTube
