I got this one on Amazon right before the price went up. I have it set up now. Runs like a champ. You can control the pump on it. 1-6. I like 4, 6 was a bit strong. I also trimmed some plants on the back left corner to open up the intake a bit. I’ll post pic links later after she clears. I still can’t post pictures on here.
 
I got the new filter installed yesterday and loving the ability to control the pump speed and output. Moved all the media from my old to the new. Rehomed my old canister and sponges. Fish seem to enjoy swimming into the stronger current.

Trimmed my plants in that left corner. Rehomed the trimmings too.

Here’s where we are tonight. Kuhli loaches are waiting for dimmer lights later, but everyone else is out and about.

The Melanotaenia praecox are really enjoying the output. They look like they are swimming upstream right infront of the output. The far left side is the strongest. The right side of the tank has the output from the 303b. The flow is good but not strong so if the fish want to relax they have the boulder and plants on that side .
 
Did my maintenance today and tore down one of the canister filters for cleaning too. It’s been 3 months. Not too dirty but liberated dozens of baby shrimp.

Gave the shrimplettes to a neighborhood girl to try and start a colony.

Sounds great! I think that was my canister filter last clean as well. Filter was ok but snails and shrimps had little colonies.
 
I've always wanted knife fish but they need really big tanks, so last year I found LK at my aquarium store, never seen anything like them before. They are my boyfriend's favourite fish from my tank. I hope to get more in the future. But right now, I love my 5 little guys.
