Hey all I was thinking about Krib breeding but I need more info on it :)

What would you like to know?

Have you bred fish before?

Why do you want to breed?

What will you do with the fry? One spawn can have a dozen fry but the next could have 150. My lfs will not accept them until they are 5 months of age, so they can be sexed.

I would like to know about the basics of breeding them. I haven't bred them before and my local pet store will take some of them off me

You need to know that the adults will spawn about once a month. As I said, they can have anywhere from a few fry survive to hundreds. You'd need to have a large enough tank to accomodate them. You'd have to have grow out tanks for the fry unless you kept them in a huge main tank.

Kribs spawn on their own. You don't need to do anything to provoke them into it. They are spawning machines.

I started feeling like I had a fry factory, rather than a fish tank, so I brought all of mine, adults included, to the lfs and moved on to other things.

I doubt your lfs will take as many as your adults will provide.
