Hi,
My 29g tank is cycled and had 2 20gallon internal filters in it. AqAdvisor said this was about the amount of filtration I needed, but that doesnt take into account plants, and I have lots of plants.
I removed one of the two filters to seed a new aquarium. I noticed that the ammonia and nitrite stayed at zero, and two months later it's still at zero so I never added another second filter.
Is this ok? I added a big Amazon Sword and some more fish, and the water turned cloudy and there are detritus worms. But the ammonia is still zero.
Do I need another filter?

In a cycled tank, you won't have any nitrites anyway. The above just tells us that you may have sufficient media in your bio filter to oxidize any ammonia in your tank. It doesn't take much media to oxidize ammonia. Cloudy water huh?
