I got a longfin bn pleco about two weeks ago from my lfs. I bought it because I like plecos and I thought he'd help keep the tank clean. However, all he does most of the die is hide. He hasn't even touched any of the diatoms on the glass of the tank. What should I do? Is there a way to get him to come out more? Should I just give him some time? The forum's advice is always appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I took my driftwood out for a little bit to see if that would make it move around more but the pleco just hid somewhere else

In my experience, unless they are the large plecos, they spend most of their time hiding. I've had mine for like 12 years amd I rarely see him. This is usually the best I see of him.20170214_144342.jpg

The other pleco I had was always out and about. I guess he was more of an exception than the rule.
