Male and female firemouths ??

Unable to tell at this point. Firemouths are very hard to tell visually. Some say you can tell by males developing a filament on the dorsal fins which is typically true, however I have females that show the very same trait and I only new she was female because I saw her lay eggs.

The main difference is males are a little more elongated and females are a little more rounder or egg shaped.

This is a pic of my pair its hard to see but you can see that both have long extensions on the dorsal fin. The male is on the right his face is a little more elongated.
