alright so, i called my LFS and asked them if they got any kind of sand that i can buy so i can house corys, they told me they had "marine sand" and that all i need to do is soak it for about an hour before i can put it into my 30g, any one have experience with marine sand and that can help me out and tell me what they specifically did

no, but why not try out some PFS? it's very cheap and perfect for a FW aquarium. just a thought :D

I'm pretty sure "marine" sand has some kind of CaCO3 in it, which will essentially make your tank a brackish tank. That's not good for freshwater fishies.

It stands for pool filter sand. You can find it at Ace Hardware, or sometimes walmart. Some people use Quickrete Medium Sand as well.
