Mbuna parents with fry

I just put some fry that are just under an inch long into my main tank and it looks like the father is protecting them. Do they watch their offspring? There's 4 in there and when another fish comes near he chases it while the fry are in his cave.

Yes they will for a little while then someone will eat them. If your wanting to grow them out id get the out

I have about 25 in the grow out and I took the biggest ones out and they aren't getting harrased too bad they're actually bigger than I thought

They can hide pretty good from the adults for some time

Yea some should survive you'll notice when it starts coming out in the open more. Happen with some hybrid fry I had only one survived and he turned out to be a little devil
