I returned all of my fish today (the live ones). my fish guy came over and saw all these tiny little creatuires in my tank. He explained that they lodge themselfs in the gills of fish and basically dont allow them to breath. He proscibed meleflex and said to use for at least 7 days (maybe longer). Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. He also told me the cratures camr from over feeding.

Melefix is a very general and mild treatment. If you have parasites, I'd recommend something more specific like prazi-pro. Prazi is very very safe for fish and it will kill off all the nasties.

My 2 cents.

Melafix is a very very poor antiparasitic treatment and will not amount to doing much at all. Personally I wouldn't use it for anything. PraziPro is a worm treatment and while it does a good job there, it won't treat much else. It also depends on the species of worm as to the dose needed.

Can you describe the problem with a little more detail/description?

Cheers
Steve
