Mollies/Platies/Guppies BREEDING?

Have been researching and have very very conflicting information.

Once and for all...
Can Mollies, platies & guppies breed with each other?

Yes but most of the time you need a male guppy for it to happen. The male guppy "makes its move" on every female (sometimes males too)

But Molly males also do this sometimes. The fry You get are hybrids and they can sometimes have kids also but It's unlikely.

It's kinda like endlers and guppies how they can breed.

The only male I have is a Black Molly... He tries to mate with my female Betta on occasion...

Ok i have read and read about this and this is the mist reliable summary i can come up with:

Endlers/guppies/mollies can cross breed with each other yes. They are all poecilidaes.

Swordtails/platys can cross breed with each other too, they are xiphophorus.

Under normal circumstances xiphophorus and poecilidaes CANNOT cross breed. Under scientific conditions, however, they can all be artificially inseminated and by controlled conditioning can then give birth to cross breeds.

Simply, a xiphophorus gonopodium does not fit a poecilidae, and vice-versa. So left in the tank will not provide off spring but may engage in 'courting' behaviour.

I just watched some of the videos, that is CRAZY! I have guppies and Mollies in the same tank, since I have males and females of both species they will stick to their own won't they?

They should do, when i read up on it, the guy said when he tried with earlier fish they all died so had to use virgin fish. The look weird dont they. Like balloons with guppy colours
