molly has weird thing on abdomen

a couple of days again i noticed things strange thing on one of my dalamtion mollies ...its on its belly , it is whiteish and its about 1mm long and sticks downwards ?? any ideas what it is , as im reali baffled by it !!

A photo would help. However, I suspect it's an anchor worm, a type of parasitic copedod. Google "anchor worm" and see if it checks out.

Have you introduced anything new to the environment? New fish, plant, ornaments etc?
Also, what are the water parameters?
It would help decipher what was the cause of the worm, should that be the case.
