I am moving to a new state. The drive will probably be about 8 hours. I have a 55 gl and a 15 gl. The big tank has a 16 inch pleco, loaches, corys and different types of goldfish. The small tank has bubble goldfish, a Cory and otos. My plan is to put my pleco in a long Rubbermaid container, and the rest in 5 gl buckets. All with lids with a hole poked in it for a bubbler tube. Here’s where I’d love some advice

1: is there something I can add to the water to help with the moving stress?

2: both my pleco and the otos have caves they spend most of their time under. Should I include those in their buckets, or is there a chance of it hurting them due to all the movement?

Am I missing anything else? Thanks in advance for any tips!

1. There is api stress coat that could be used or one of the other hundred stress additives.
2. No I would not include them.

My recommendation would be to add the air stone just in case. Its not going to hurt anything and insures your fish have oxygen. I would also recommend using a cooler if you have one instead of a 5 gallon bucket. Its insulated and has a lid along with a drain.

Thanks guys. I’ll get a stress additives. This isn’t my first move with my fish, but my first long distance move. Hopefully they will all make it.
