So I've have this tank for about a month and I'd like to share my progress with it

First day I got it the cords and everything look like a octopus because I couldn't find my extension cord

I began to build my diy hood to give better lights. It's holds 2 36" dual bulb t8's

And this is today. Hood was painted but I could only afford 2 bulbs at the moment and am waiting until I can afford the other 2. The drift wood and some plants have been added. The cycle finished and I will begin slowly adding fish tomorrow.

All ideas and thoughts and opinions are apritiated. Thanks for reading!

I like the substrate. I prefer sand over gravel.

Thanks it's just cheap pool filter sand from Canadian tire.

The driftwood doesn't look natural or good.

Yeah I'm going to cover all the zap straps with plants such as the java fern an Anubias on the joints. Yes I agree it's not the most natural but it gives me framework for my plants it wasn't meant for beauty.
