Here is my 45 gallon. Got the tank for free and built a stand and hood. Currently has 3 rainbow fish, 5 assorted cory cats, 1 otto, and 1 albino Bristlenose. I built the hood and lights. It has six 23 watt, 6500 K CFL bulbs. I have golden pothos planted in it. That is the roots in the tank. What do you think?

What type of rocks? Would you stack or lean them together to make a few caves? I have some natural rocks around outside. They are tan in color. All shapes and sizes too. I have seen some greyish ones too. I don't think they are limestone or any composition that would harden the water. I'll look around tomorrow afternoon and post some pics.

When I need rocks I just go to my nearest creek, spend half an hour or so selecting rocks that are far enough from the water that they are dry but close enough that after a good rain, when the creek is high, they'd be submerged ( it has a small catchment area so it's perfect )
Eg: ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456721982.581652.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456721999.832177.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456722017.350146.jpg
If you're going for a natural kinda look, personally I'd stay away from stacking

I also found that stacking wood and rocks or rocks and plants together looks better than rocks with rocks ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456722941.177518.jpg plus you wont need to worry about stacked rocks falling on your fish

Here is a few I found this afternoon. The second pic is a really unique rock. It looks like petrified wood. I thought it was pretty cool. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456793272.651622.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1456793290.655093.jpg
