A couple months ago I got three blue gourami, I thought I was sold a male and two females but received two males and a female. One male was much larger and began to bully the smaller male. He had left large areas darkened from attacks and his fins were being nipped. I separated them, the injured male went to a smaller community tank. Shortly the big male started on the female even worse. She was put with the other, they chased each other and did what seemed like playful nipping. Until the male's back half turned dark with almost blackish stripes. He has been this way for some time now. Does anyone have a clue are answer?
