Hey guys thanks for checking my post. I have a 75 gal tank with plenty of hiding places with African cichlids. I have two of what i was told are Electric blue johanni(sp) but I believe they are another type. They are very aggressive and they are now trying to claim the whole tank. A lot of my fish are stuck hiding up in the corners and their fins are starting to get beat up. Below is a list of the fish in the tank. I was wondering what I should do to lower the agressivness and I would like to know what type of fish the electric blue ones might be any info would help.

Fish in tank
2 Electric blue johanni 3"
4 peacocks 1.5-3"
1 yellow lab 2"
1 bumble bee 1.5"
2 convict 2"
1 red Devil 2.5"
and 2 mild temperment not sure there names 2"
1 pleco
1 rapheal catfish

I also am tryin 2 add pics so u can see the tank but the site keeps failing 2 load theres alot more hiding places now as aposed to my profile pic

its because you are mixing south american cichlids and african cichlids.... the africans might kill the south american cichlids.... best thing to do is seperate the convicts and the red devil from the africans

alright thanks for the help, in that case, i have another question, I have a buddy with a 75 gal tank with 2 2.5" jack dempseys and 1 3" oscar, would it be safe to put the convicts and red devil in with them, thanks again for the help

Johanni of any type are known to be particularly aggressive, although Electric Blues are said to be less so then other Johanni types. It is possible you got regular Johanni rather than the electric blues, but without a picture it is very difficult to tell. I do agree that you should not mix the South American and the Africas. That said however, in looking over your list, you really do have a lot of incompatable fish together in the same tank. I would suggest some additional research of all of those types and some major changes of your stock list may be in order.

i'm trying to load pictures but it keeps failing, i just click on the paperclip and upload a photo correct? sorry for all the dumb ?'s but i got alot of bad advice from a poor pet store and now trying to fix the problems that have grown in my tank
Thx for the help
