Hey everybody.
My names mike, from florida.
Ive been into this hobby for 8 years or so, but never had the time or spare cash to have a "big" tank, big to me atleast. i had (have) a 40 gallon that ive had cichlids and otherfish, and a few fish were getting too big for the tank.
found a nice deal for a 125gal with a sump (that was cracked) for $150 on CL and started putting this tank together.
I welded up the tall stand, picked up a cascade 1500, fixed the sump and got it all working with a new overflow box. Also picked up a used coralife 36 UV off ebay for a good price.
im still in the process of making the hood, and the magnetic panels for the stand, so its got along way to go. Im still also building more and more slate rock caves for the fish. a few of these pics are a few weeks old.

Like i said im still tweaking everything and building everything.

since these pics ive added the rest of my cichlids (like 16 so far), 2 5in raph catfishes, and a 12in+ pleco. They crap like mad (and move my sand like crazy), so I'm still fine tuning water flow and etc. Still a lot more to do.

Here's the new "tube" tank. This will be my new community tank. I'll prob be moving all my fish from my 20gal planted tank to this one. And put my betta fish in my planted tank. Dunno what I'll be doing with my 40gal tank. I just have some baby Molly's in there now.

I'll get pics of everything else later. Lots more to do.

Cool tank. As cool as it is now, I can't wait to see it completely finished. Your DIY skills ain't too bad either...lol.....

Thanks man. It still has a long way to go, plus I've been dealing with water problems on my 40gal tank. Aaaaand I just picked up a 40b tank today so I have that to deal with too now.

Picked up a xp3 for my 40b. I have it going right now with my old HOB filter.
Water is perfect and now I gotta make some led lights. I'll get pics up.

been awhile since ive been on here. i just snapped a few pics with my iphone to show the tanks. not great pics but you get the idea.
added lots of plants and a few more fish to all my tanks, and so far so good.
my clean day for the tanks is in 2 days so they arent the cleanest right now.

125gal mixed cichlid tank with a few other fish.

right now my black ghost knife fish is in the 40B with some rainbows, zebras, angels and a few other guys. he's only 5in long right now so he's happy. ill have to do another big tank for him when he gets older.

i have a 20 gal in my bedroom with one black moor goldfish thats planted also, and 4.5gal filted ball tank with my betta, ANNND a 2.5gal tank with abunch of new baby cichlids. so ive been thinking of doing a divided 55gal for all of them. i already have the tank sitting in my garage so its been a thought. would save on electric and time. i dunno

Wow. That is a lot of tanks. I have never seen anything like the tube tank before. Where do you find something like that?

Craigslist. I re did everything on it. Sand and polished the tank, did the stand, and now making the new lighting for it.

Awesome looking tanks! The tube tank is so neat, you are lucky to have found it on craigslist.

Thank you. It was a score to find it at the price I did. It's a sweet setup. I might sell it though.

Tank with stand and brand new dual api canister filters and all lights... Prob $800obo The tank alone is $1600.

I'll keep it in mind;) it's awesome but I am in San Diego so shipping would cost an arm and a leg ;)

If you just wanted the tank I could prob figure something out. But the name of the tank is Uniquarium 75 gallon tube aquarium. Google has a few things on it.

Do you have a backed up picture of the tank on the stand? IF I bought it I would probably want the tank, canister, and lights. Maybe the stand. And I would pay shipping

Got my 55gal tank up and running in my room. It's for one of my cichlids that just gets beat up like mad, and in dividing it also for the mama cichlids and a section for the baby's.
Right now Orange (the cichlids name, he's a red zebra but is a real wuss) is in my 20gal with my one big Black Moor. I know it's two different fish but hasn't had a problem at all. I'm only moving him again because the Black Moor just freaks the Cichlid out (he also doesn't have most of his tail... Don't ask me why I still have him)

But all tanks are perfect. No deaths in months... Even the guppies have been hanging on.

I need to get my stocking lists up for each tank to get some of your thoughts. I'm sure I'm doing things "wrong" but so far so good.
