Had my tank up and running for almost a week now. Thinking about getting rid of the big rock later and going to some smaller ones and live plants eventually. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreaciated (excuse the pic quality)

Looks nice, you could add a backround and put plants infront of the heater to hide it and add something to the other side.
 
Toss the large rock, way over powering IMO, maybe paint the background? White? Blue? Or maybe black? Black is pretty popular second is blue.

Also maybe a nice center piece of driftwood?

Yea I'm starting to see the large rock as overpowering as well. I might keep it in there until my cycle is complete. I plan on starting a large tank soon, possibly a 60 gallon so I might use it in the new tank to establish new beneficial bacteria
