I have an existing 55 gallon freshwater tank with a Plecostomus and a Black Ghost, both about 6" long. I was wondering if these guys could handle living with a tank full of African Cichlids or if they would be driven crazy? I have had Cichlids before and know they are tough little guys. We have hard water so there is no problem there. Thanks.

The BGK will be killed, most likely. Also, the high protien diet the BGK enjoys is not good for most african cichlids. The pleco might hold it's own though.

I totally agree. The knife would be gone quick. I've also seen a lot of one eyed or blind plecos that came out of rift tanks.
